Who is Marc-André Coté ?
Marc-André Coté has a diploma in Photographic Techniques from College du Vieux Montreal and a bachelor degree in Fine Art Illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology. He has followed a career in teaching photography for the past 22 years.
He misses no opportunity to expand his porfolio when he travels through this country or abroad and is particularity fond of alternative techniques such as infra-red black and white or pinhole. He likes to finish his pictures in the manner of the colourist of yesterday.
Nature photography is his way of sharing with us his passion for the beauty of nature, thus allowing us in these frantic times to stop and observe what we are missing through our fast-paced modern living. When he is in town, he focuses on Man in his environment through his photographic lens, imagining he bears witness to the strange and ephemeral way of life of homo sapiens.
Whetear in nature or in urban photography, Marc-Andre always keeps anthropology in mind, with his desire to preserve picture of our era for future generations.
